项目简介:

Titanium dioxide (TiO2) has been widely used for renewable energy applications such as photocatalytic hydrogen generation, photocatalytic CO2conversion, and photocatalytic environmental cleanings. Its ability to absorb sunlight plays a key role in the overall efficiency for these applications. However, it is a white material, with a large bandgap, and only absorbs light in the ultraviolet (UV) region. This limits its overall efficiency as the UV light only accounts for less than 5% of the whole solar spectrum. Here, I would like to introduce our work on how to turn white titanium dioxide into black, in order to improve its efficiency in renewable energy applications. The fundamental materials and physiochemical characterizations will be discussed in details. In addition, their applications in lithium-ion rechargeable battery and microwave absorption will be introduced, along with other recent work.


主讲人简介:

陈晓波,美国密苏里大学堪萨斯城分校副教授,博士生导师。陈教授2005年获美国凯斯西储大学博士学位;2006-2011年就职于美国加州大学-伯克利分校。主要从事纳米材料合成、光催化、新能源电池、电化学、微波吸收及环境污染处理等研究。在Science等国际重要期刊发表学术论文150多篇,论文被国际引用超过39000次,显著成果为首次发现黑色TiO2纳米颗粒及其应用研究。
